Use Google Analytics to collect data from your website, your ShowClix event listings, and any online marketing initiatives.

Google Analytics is an incredibly powerful marketing tool that allows businesses, brands, and events to use real-time data to track the success of their campaigns. Google Analytics provides an all-in-one platform for user demographics, page views and bounce rates, customer engagement, and device overviews. GA allows you to monitor the effectiveness of your marketing efforts while using a plethora of important metrics that will help your event succeed. 

To set up your Google Analytics integration with ShowClix, please follow the instructions below:

Step 1

Create a new Google Analytics account if you do not already have one: 

Step 2

Use the below cross-domain tracking code on your site and your ShowClix event listings. The cross-domain code will connect your site’s activity to your ShowClix event listing’s activity so you can see a user’s entire path to the ticket sale. Please note, if you already have the standard Google Analytics code on your site, you will need to replace it with the cross-domain code.

  • Replace the red section below with your Google Analytics UA Tracking ID, found in your Google Analytics account: 

    • Log in to Google Analytics > Admin > Property Settings

    • Your Tracking ID will be displayed under Basic Settings > Tracking ID

  • Once you have the final cross-domain code, you will implement it on all pages of your site

Step 3

Once you have placed the code on all pages of your site, you will also need to put it on your ShowClix event listings.

  • Log in to the ShowClix Admin > Marketing > Marketing Accounts > Google Analytics 

  • Enter Google Analytics Tracking ID  

  • Select “Save”

Step 4

Create a Google Analytics Goal to track ticket sales.

  • Log in to Google Analytics

  • Select “Admin”

  • Find the  ”View ” Column

  • Click “Goals” and then select “New Goal”

  • Select “Buy Tickets” under Revenue  

  • Select “Continue

  • Name your Goal (Ticket Sales)

  • Select “Destination” under Type

  • Select “Continue”

  • Under Goal Details, change “Equals” to “Regular Expression”

  • Enter the following in the field presented: /receipt.* 

  • Select “Save”

    • Do not turn on “Value” or “Funnel”


Step 5

Turn on “Ecommerce reporting” to collect ticket revenue data in your Google Analytics account.

  • Log in to Google Analytics 

  • Select “Admin”

  • In the View column, select “Ecommerce Settings”

  • Click the Enable Ecommerce toggle ON 

  • Select “Done”


Step 6

Remove four website referrals:,, and your two website URL versions (ex. and as referral traffic sources to properly track where website traffic is coming from.

  • Log in to Google Analytics > Admin

  • In the Property column, select “Tracking Info”

  • Choose “Referral Exclusion List”

  • Select “+Add Referral Exclusion”

  • Enter “” 

  • Select “Create”

  • Again select “+Add Referral Exclusion”

  • Enter “” 

  • Select “Create”

  • Again select “+Add Referral Exclusion”

  • Enter your website URL  

  • Select “Create”

  • Again select “+Add Referral Exclusion”

  • Enter your URL

Step 7 (Optional)

UTM parameters are a simple tracking code that you can attach to every URL used for online marketing initiatives to track a source, medium, and campaign name. It enables Google Analytics to report on your specific marketing campaigns.
